MEDIACORP!
We were off to mediacorp over the weekend! amazing experience to just be there.. coz obviously i've not been to mediacorp before. duh. hahaha.. Class starts at 1pm but we were supposed to be there by 12.30 for registration. oh wells. went for lunch, tim sum at a coffee shop near mediacorp, with my mum, auntie and cheryl. Then headed for mediacorp itself. At the counter, we had to present our IC to the person to scan and print for us a sticker (above) and take the code (below my name) to key into a gantry to enter the premises itself. speak of high tech security. ok. next would be getting to the canteen which would lead us to the classrooms. at the gantry, there was someone to facilitate our movement so it wasn't a problem getting to the classrooms. Next, lessons. shan't talk about though. JEALOUS??? HAHAHA.. Chen Li Ping and me.. although she wear macham PJs..We met them in the canteen. how cool is that. imagine the canteen full of stars. i'll be star struck! oh wells. it was only the 2 of them. haha.. but fiona xie already made my day. so cool meeting her.. my new girlfriend! hahaha.. she speaks all chinese can. =/ Next interesting thing, we went to the Channel News Asia STUDIO! where they read the news and we learnt how it goes about and the processes involved. We went to the studio half an hour before they host the 4pm news live. and otteli edwards, the news presenter, talked to us about what her job was and answered all the questions we had for her.. omg. We had time to stand inside the studio (below) and saw what the cameras don't. also what the newscaster see too.. do you know that there are 2 tvs facing her, showing what is being shown on your tv screens? now you know. hahaha.. Otteli Edwards presenting the news... Augustine, our lecturer and the voice you may hear on the news, giving us a talk on what goes on on all the tvs. Its basically all for show.. they had channels like reuters and star sports on the tvs. FACT: do you know that CNA shows LOCAL and INTERNATIONAL versions of their news? While news like fire in Bedok is being shown on the LOCAL set, another set of news would be shown for the INTERNATIONAL version. and the feeder bar at the bottom also display news differently. However, the news caster is still the same! Now you know. Also while the news was going on, Augustine brought us to the control room, where the people coordinate what goes on and what is going to be shown, which camera to look at for the news caster and stuff like this. thus the number of tveees. Overall, it was a fantastic and memorable experience to be able to see what goes on behind the scenes.. its not just so simple to read the news.. the presenter also has to find stories and stuffs. the 2nd day, we had to do a PTC ( Person To Camera). and we had to come out with a story board (fake of cause!) and have a PTC at the back. So I did the story on Noh Alam Shah over the incident where he fought with his international teammate and banned for a year. My PTC to conclude: "Alam Shah, a legend in Singaporeans' eyes, once scored 7 goals in a match for Singapore. However, this fall from grace may hurt his credentials badly. Will the nation ever accept Alam Shah back into the footballing community again? Or will he never be forgiven for his crime? Only time, and the public's reaction will tell. Ivan Lian, Channel News Asia, Singapore." Well, i had to record this on tape for marks. me speaking with a fake mike. and we had to do it in 2 takes. luckily, i managed not to slip up on the 2nd. although i forgot my second like during my first take. don't luff. its hard! haha.. Group foto. although some pple are missing.. More but not all. Well. that concludes the mediacorp experience for a weekend. more to come though. heh.. Thursday, January 10, 2008, 10:38 PM
GOOD DEED.
I signed up for driving already! one step towards driving. duh. hahhah.. driving at cdc= super duper ex. argh. registration already 160 just like that. wa lao. madness sia.. total spend like 406 for everything.. theory test and some credits to try driving. sighhh.. And Mr Suresh is a damn boring person. unlike omar. both my current chers. he talks in a droning voice plus he reads every line from the slides! omg. boringggg. today my route to school wasnt routine. well, the route was routine but something happened. i was in a double deck WEB bus 51 and it was quite empty.. so i sat righttt at the back. wayy into that corner of the earth. and a middle aged couple sat on the same stretch of chairs, only on the other side. and they were kissing, not kissing than back to kissing. that wasnt the something happened. i just happen to look their side and i noticed that the guy (the girl was sitting against the window and the guy next to her) had his handphone on the seat behind his butt. picture this, the chair, his butt was on it. but the hp behind his butt. so i thought to myself. a) did he purposely leave it there? b) or he left it there without realising it. turns out. his case was option b. cause no sooner when they left that i saw the hp on the chair. it was a old nokia model, but had colour, 3g.. so i took it. and i went to school. you must be thinking why so evil. well. i thought the same thing too. and i know the feeling of losing a phone. but i still took it. when i was in class, he gave missed calls to the phone and a msg that said: Hi, if you have found my phone pls contact this number. thank you!! so i decided on being the good guy and msg him to meet me at eunos after school. i know some of you don't believe it. well. i actually thought of keeping the phone at first, plus my friend said finders keepers, losers weepers. oh wells. karma baby. and i returned the phone. he was a china guy.. he told me he was going into rp soon. and was grateful to get his phone back. he asked me to join them for dinner but i declined.. partly because he speaks only chinese. hahaha.. no la. wasn't hoping or expecting anything. and he asked for my contact. when i left, he msg me and told me that he was going back to china for a while and asked me if i want anything from there.. of coz i said no need. but he insisted and after i said no need again, he suggested he buy food stuffs.. so i said anything. haha.. oh wells. i did a good deed. lets see if karma really works. but no more me losing things. nope. hahah.. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
First things first. HAPPY NEW YEAR! ok. Everyone's looking back on year 2007. should i follow the mainstream? nahhh.. i'll pass. mayb i'll do it for year 2008. XP hmm.. ok la. maybe i'll do a little tinny winny bit of summary. 2007 equals one word for me. CARTEL. For almost the whole year, i was working there. 2007 also means I turn 18 (finally) which also means that i can pick up driving! but sadly i have not gone to apply. will apply soon thou! 2007 is also the year i got my ps3! wooo.. ok. enough about 2007. L.A.M.E.R.S + S.H.I.T ( we should change the name!) went to celebrate my bdae on the 22/12, than celebrated mad's bdae on the 30th. (= ![]()
Sch reopened 1 day later than everyone. so i had an extra day of holiday.. and since my mum has been pestering me to cut my hair, i went to katong on the day before sch starts. and i highlighted my hair too. but i think i highlighted too much. even i think so too. hahaha.. usually it will be okay with me. but this time round, its more! damn. Jas ased if there would be field trips, and surprisingly, he said yes! woo.. he told us the last one he went was to the brewery. how cool is that. haha.. than he keep on sayin " the powerhouse opp sentosa one.. umm.. wad isit ah?" he actually wanted to say st james powerhouse, but forgot not once but twice. LOL. "Where were you from?" was one of the questions and he kinda said under his breath but still audible, " from my mummy la. where else can i come from." WTF. he's actually in his 30s, or 40s. no idea. and he says he's a bit of arab, and stuff. so he calls it rojak. hahahha.. I saw this on Facebook's marketplace, Free section: |
